I lost my first love
By BarackoliObama Story ID: 80
Me and my girlfriend both work 3rd shift. She works 11-7 and I work 10-6. So i just get dropped off and have to wait for her to pick me up in the morning. We get to my work and everything is fine. We talk and bs and stories from yesterday while i get clocked in and head to work. We talk while i work a little and then I turn around and turn back and she is starting to leave. I thought it was weird that she started to leave without saying bye cuz she is always the first to say "hey get back here and give me a kiss" or something like that. I thought "ok ill just be lovey when i see her in the morning."
Fast forward to the end of my shift. I clock out and go sit at a table to wait and end up falling asleep. I wake up at 8 and call and text her like crazy and get no response. I see that the morning news is on and think "ok maybe she had to stay late cuz someone never showed up." I wait and wait and eventually start to jump to conclusions and think that maybe something happened. I start to look up accidents and stuff on my phone and see a couple accidents along the highway between our works but think nothing. I see one that is 1 fatality and just 1 car. I start freaking out and keep checking that one over and over and it eventually updates and then I see a picture of my truck flipped over. I think no way!!! It cant be my truck! It cant be her! And i eventually call my parents to pick me up. And they call 911 and try to figure out what happened.
She was the one fatality.
The truck hit a patch of ice from the recent blizzard in the north east US and the truck slid sideways and hit the snow bank on the side of the highway and flipped.
She wasnt wearing her seatbelt and was ejected but didnt suffer. I always told her to wear her seatbelt.
I dont know what to do right now. Her families know. My family knows. We were together for 2 years on January 3rd. She was only 2 weeks older than me. We are both 19. She was my first major relationship, my first kiss, my first love. She was my first for everything. We met in high school. She was my motivation to do anything except sit at home and play video games. We have so many love stories together. We had our first apartment set up for March 9th. I have to cancel it. I lost my first car. But most importantly I lost my first love. I love you Alexis.
