We made the car smell like shrimp!

You know how cooked shrimp smells? Especially if they are a day old or so? You know the little ones, as in the picture. I mean, I think shrimp smells good, but the scent can be a bit intense sometimes. And perhaps particularly for someone who doesn’t like shrimp.
This story took place many years ago when I was about 15. We had played a football tournament about an hour away from home, and some of the parents had kindly driven us to the tournament. When we played away, we always relied on someone’s parents for transport.
We happened to win this particular tournament, and were happy and upbeat as we were heading home. A friend of mine and I stopped by a grocery stop before heading off to get some food and water. This store happened to sell freshly cooked shrimp that day, and we thought ‘why not?’ So we bought on kilo of shrimp for the way home. Not thinking that we were going to share the small car with two other people, one being the mum of a friend of us who didn’t like shrimp (we didn’t know this until a few weeks later btw.)
So we get in the car, all up us happy for winning and heading home. I open the bag of shrimp and put it in the middle of the backseat between my friend and I, and we start eating.
The mum goes: ’You’re eating SHRIMP??’
I say: ‘Yeah, want some?’, leaning forward and sticking my head out between the two front seats.
Mum: ‘No for me please.’
Its messy, pieces fall on the floor, our hands have shrimp waste all over them, it smells, the car is hot, shrimp juices drip down on the seats and probably stay forever. All in all, it was a smelly, smelly happy shrimp-fest. Just a very inconsiderate one. Because the mum kept looking at us though the review mirror. She did not have a happy face on. And it turned out that she HATES shrimp and almost fainted on the drive back. And apparently, she spent 2 hours cleaning the car after we had gotten home.
